  1. It a beautifully terrifying evolution from dancer onstage to dancer who knows the stage. I really think Education is the key. Dancers, like you, who take that leap and discover that there are many, many realms of performance that we excel at that have nothing to do with being on stage. The everyday woman or man struggles with the same daily anxieties dancers do, less dramatic perhaps, but valid in every way. We spend our lives as ballerinas wading through anxiety, constant corrections, ids, egos, psychos, and we emerge beautifully tolerant on the other side. Education shines the light on the world of execution beyond ballet that we are good at. We have discipline, we are quick learners, we take correction well and we want everything we do to have a great review afterwards. Ballet trains us to be the most energetic, essential change agents of this world. You have never allowed yourself to be a one trick pony, versatile onstage and off. I look forward to reading as you continue to be ballet’s positive influence on the world.

    1. Thank you Sarah. I agree that education shines a light on those very useful things that remain post stage. My hope is this blog can be used as a resource, source of comfort and reference for those moving on from a life dedicated to being an artist. Thank you for your support!
